12 Comics Learning Support Program

Mark Hair is the Founder and CEO of 12Comics. Mark currently resides in South Orange NJ., and has been an avid comic book reader for over 30 years, Mark serves as CEO and Senior Editor for the 12Comics Learning Support Program.

"I'm always asked what inspired me to start 12Comics? Well here it is. My favorite authors and reading materials were in the realm of fantasy, comics and science fiction. I could spend hours reading incredible stories and then spend hours talking about them with friends and then hours creating my own worlds and roleplaying in them. This is where I had to ask myself, 'What if there were a program in school where I would be graded on creating and engaging content I enjoyed? BOOM! 12Comics!"

Basically 12Comics supports learning by taking any subject and instead of saying...

'Class, open up your text books and lets learn about history and science'

12Comics says...

'Class, today create your character and then tell me how your hero would help in the American Revolution or, write a short story on the ramifications of your character stopping Abraham Lincoln or J.F. Kennedy from being assassinated.'

'And then at the end of the year we'll publish a comic book, mini novel or short film featuring your character. Of course, the fate of your character is determined on how well you do in school.'

"If someone would have told me that when I was in grade school...whoa! Talk about excited about going to school! You wouldn't have been able to keep me away."

"Oh, and I forgot to mention that we'll also place the students character in an academic video game that only allows them to grow stronger based on how well they do in school, AND teach the student how to market their character with our Entreprenuerial component so that they learn to earn money with their creation in our online store."
